5 Great reasons to find a place for a Power Nap
It’s almost 2:00PM…It’s That Time for a Power Nap
Power nap, cat nap…whatever you want to call it…it works wonders. Naps are not just for kids in kindergarten. As adults and teens etc. we all need a break from time to time. Some power companies like Google and Nike have nap rooms where people can take a quick break. How cool is that! Me being a college student, I always want to take a nap, it helps improves my energy, motivation and enthusiasm.
*Side Bar—Have you ever had those naps where you look at the clock and it is 3:05 pm and you wake up and its 3:07PM, but you feel like you have been sleep for hours!! Those are the best*
Any who, naps are an essential part of life. Here are a few great reasons for power napping.
- Decrease Stress
I don’t even need to explain. Everyone can benefit from this, easily making it one of the best reasons to take a power nap. Getting rid of stress with 20 minutes of sleep? Yeah, I’ll take it.
2. Increase Productivity
We are all sleep-deprived, and I am sure it is only getting worse. Some often try to compensate for our bad sleeping patterns with caffeine, sugar and sleeping in late on the weekends. Past studies indicate that power naps can improve productivity. We all work too hard and don’t take enough vacations. Taking a power nap instead just makes so much more sense…right? So, why wait? Go find a comfortable place and grab a short power nap. I am sure your body will THANK YOU..and your boss might do the same.
3. Safety
Taking a power nap means less stress, better reactions times, and possibly more patience. The body needs 7 hours or so, of sleep per day. When one gets 6 hours of less, it triples risks for car accidents. Tired people make mistakes…get some sleep people.
4. Creativity
Who doesn’t like creativity? As you allow your brain to process information, your subconscious is doing the same thing. Therefore it is bust making associations, implementing thoughts and creatively combining ideas.
5. Better Attitude
As sleep deficiency builds up, we usually get stressed and grumpy more easily. ( I know for me, sometimes I just don’t want to be bothered) Power naps can help to level this playing field. As a result we can be happy and others will share the same energy.
Do you take power naps? Let me know some of your favorite reasons/places to power nap….it will be our little secret!
